Fire and Ice by Carly Robyn featuring book cover of male hockey player and a woman facing him on the ice

Fire and Ice by Carly Robyn

Book Blurb:

Victoria Nash is just a teenager in the 1940s, but she runs the household on her family’s peach farm in the ranch town of Iola, Colorado—the sole surviving female in a family of troubled men. Wilson Moon is a young drifter with a mysterious past, displaced from his tribal land in the Four Corners region, who wants to believe one place is just like another. When Victoria encounters Wil on a street corner, their unexpected connection ignites as much passion as danger and as many revelations as secrets. Victoria flees into the beautiful but harsh wilderness of the nearby mountains when tragedy strikes. Living in a small hut, she struggles to survive in the unforgiving conditions with no clear notion of what her future will be. What happens afterward is her quest to regain all that she has lost, even as the Gunnison River rises to submerge her homeland and the only life she has ever known.

Fire and Ice by Carly Robyn had me laughing out loud as this fake dating scenario was spot on! I’ve loved all of this author’s books and each one gets better and better.

Kennedy was so well written. She’s seriously the BFF of our book dreams! I loved how her confidence grew as she fake-dated Cam and her determination to follow her dreams of a bakery. Cam was also a doll, and I loved how hard and fast her loved Kennedy. Both of the MCs made me so happy to read, and I got through this in under twenty-four hours.

What makes Robyn’s writing so good is her banter. She completely knocks it out of the park with her wit and humor. The writing is definitely spicy so be prepared. If you like rom-coms with heat, heart and humor, I’d definitely read this one ASAP!

Quotes I liked:

Fuck, I hate when a man makes a good point, because on principle, I hate agreeing with men.”

“You. A man with the social skills of a sloth on painkillers and zero free time.”
