Book Blurb:
Charmingly murderous anti-hero Joe Goldberg continues his twisted quest for the perfect love in this thrilling follow-up to the “deeply dark yet mesmerizing” You. When Joe follows the woman he wants to marry to the West Coast, he never imagines that his obsession will lead him to such tragedy.
My Review: 4 stars
Hidden Bodies is the perfect follow up to You, the predecessor to this quirky, crude and page turner of a book. I do recommend reading these books in order if you can.
Kepnes has come back with her lovable, sicko-stalker, Joe Goldberg, as he tackles LA in search of another ‘love of his life’. The author’s humor is ever apparent and her play on the word, love, is done quite well. The intricacies of family life are new territory for Joe and put him in sticky situations that just add to his brand of crazy.
This book ended so realistically, yet left room for the series to go on. Joe Goldberg is a supremely flawed, sex hungry, well-read, murderous, narcissistic, stalker nut job and it’s hard not to love him!
Fair warning: you must be comfortable with body parts and sexual language because this book is chock full of them.
Quotes I liked:
I don’t know if I could go on, because the real horror of my life is not that I’ve killed some terrible people. The real horror is that the people I’ve loved didn’t love me back.”
-“Everything can wait when you have love in your life.”
-“Love is kind, love is patient but also, mainly, above all-yes-love is perverted.”
-“It’s a special thing, when someone who can’t tell a story tries.”
