Book Blurb:

At the age of twenty-three Carrie Bell has spent her entire life in Wisconsin, with the same best friend and the same dependable, easygoing, high school sweetheart. The Dive From Clausen’s Pier is a tender and heartbreaking coming of age story. Questions such as “What are the boundariesΒ of love?”, Β “How much am I willing to sacrifice?”, and “Is my right answer, someone else’s wrong answer?”, fill the book.

These challenges make this main character flawed, but normal, like most any twenty-three year old girl. Β She’s facing life decisions far too soon in her life and has to test herself for what is her version of right and her version of wrong, amongst everyone else’s ideals.

Ann Packer has delivered a strong book with a lot to discuss in book groups.

Quotes I liked:

But it’s not very helpful to regard your choices as a series of right or wrong moves. They don’t define you as much as you define them”
