Book Blurb:
Martine is a genetically cloned replica made from Evelyn Caldwell’s award-winning research. She’s patient and gentle and obedient. She’s everything Evelyn swore she’d never be.
And she’s having an affair with Evelyn’s husband.
Now, the cheating bastard is dead, and the Caldwell wives have a mess to clean up.
Good thing Evelyn Caldwell is used to getting her hands dirty
My Review: 4 stars
The Echo Wife totally blew me away with the possibility of cloning and the repercussions it can have. For those of you that know me, you’re aware that I’m not a big fan of thrillers and shy away from sci-fi unless it’s time travel. I’ve now added cloning into my repertoire of sci-fi light.
So yes, this book is about cloning, but there’s high drama too. Evelyn’s clone is sleeping with her husband. Evelyn and the clone team up, can’t tell you why…it’d be a spoiler. There are characters who surprise you and twists I didn’t see coming.
There were so many things that I hadn’t thought about. Can a clone feel? Have her own thoughts? Does a clone get sick? My mind really went on a bender as I tried to wrap my head around the idea that cloning is already being done and will become more prevalent as time goes on.
If you’re looking for something different with suspense and female empowerment, definitely pre-order this for its February, 2021 release.
