My Review: 4 stars
The Truth About the Devlins was a fast-paced mystery and family drama that kept me entertained from start to finish! I love a story about an underdog or black sheep of the family and this one fit the bill.
TJ trying to make his way back into the good graces of his family. His brother, sister and both parents are all lawyers, while TJ is given the simple title of investigator. He takes it quite seriously though and gets a paycheck, so he deals with it. After a jail stint, he’ll take what they offer.
When John, TJ’s brother, calls about an incident that requires cleaning up, he asks TJ to help. TJ is more than happy to be included in anything that will put him into good graces with his family. This incident is where the meat of the story begins as it’s the catalyst to the mystery, lies, secrets and betrayals that unfold.
I love that the pacing kept up with what was happening in the book. The characters felt relatable, even the one that I wanted to punch in the face. The mystery wasn’t difficult to figure out and thankfully, there was a satisfying ending. You’ll enjoy this one if you liked What Happened to the Bennetts.
